1 Mukhi Rudraksha Himalaya

The one-faced Rudraksha is blessed by Lord Shiva himself. Chapter 11 gives a brief introduction to these mighty Mahadevas. They are lovely and the greatest of all gods. He is the father of language, music, dance and Ayurveda, the god of love and the cause of birth and death. Without knowing the Shaiva element, it is not possible to understand Hinduism and Hindu philosophy.

Wearing or worshiping the one-faced Rudraksha also frees one from serious sins like Brahmin murder. This helps in attaining Brahmjnana and the senses are subdued. Then the holder begins to absorb himself in the Paratattva (Shiva Tattva). This seed provides bliss and the posthumous salvation. Lakshmi resides in the place where this Rudraksha is worshipped. It is the most auspicious of the Rudraksha. It is not only Shiva-proximity to the holder(spiritual knowledge and attainment of grace) but fulfills all the aspirations of the material world. The holder develops concentration and peace of mind.

According to Shiva Purana, the one-faced Rudraksha brings both Riddhi and Siddhi, hence it has a unique place among all Rudraksha. This develops leadership qualities and brings the ability to deal with a stressful situation. Therefore, those who have to play the role of leadership or get the presidency of an institution, they choose this Rudraksha.

The regulating planet of this Rudraksha is the Sun. When this planet is contaminated, wearing one-faced Rudraksha erases this evil. It relieves headaches, eye diseases, hemorrhoids and liver and skin diseases.

People have experienced that one-faced Rudraksha helps in addiction relief when there is addiction (especially smoking, alcohol, drugs, tobacco use, overeating, overtalking, etc.). Indonesian grain may be used here. This Rudraksha brings about a radical change in the wearer, addictions are relieved with little effort and lifestyle is completely changed. The properties of the one-faced moon are not described in any authentic text.

One-faced Rudraksha has the form of-

According to Padma Purana, the one-faced Rudraksha is the form of Shiva himself as stated by Lord Shiva:

Ekavaktrah Shivah Sakshaadbramahatyam Vyapohati।

(Padmpuran, Srishtikhand, Adhyay-59, Shlok-146)

That is

One-faced Rudraksha is the form of Shiva and removes brahma-hatya.

Who should wear-

If the Sun is afflicted in the horoscope (Nichasya, Shatrurashisya), the person should wear a one-faced Rudraksha or he should wear it free from the evil of the Sun eclipse.

This Rudraksha can be worn by all adults. It can be placed in the worship room or on the altar, where it is worshiped daily. Those who are suffering from addiction or undesirable lifestyle, which causes them physical and mental suffering, can get rid of it by wearing it. The one-faced rudraksha is worn by those who wish to gain the favor of the sun or to erase adversity or to cultivate devotion, detachment and ultimately attain the stage of Nirvana.

Benefits of wearing-

1. Wearing one-faced Rudraksha prevents Sun Dosha.

2. It is beneficial in blood pressure, eye disorders and bone problems.

3. Wearing one-faced Rudraksha increases mental peace.

Method of wearing-

First of all, bathe the one-faced Rudraksha with Ganga water or raw cow’s milk, light a lamp in the temple and worship Shiva with a pure heart.

Then the method of wearing the one-faced Rudraksha

Asya shri shiv mantrasya prasad rishih panktih chhandah shivodevta hankaro bijam auṁ shaktih mam chaturvargasiddhayarthe rudraksh dharanaarthe jape viniyogah .

Vaamdev rishaye namah shirasi,

Panktishchhandase namo mukhe,

Ri en aidam namah hrudi, han bijay namo guhyo

Om-om hram angustabhyam namah

With which mantra should you perform the Nyas-

According to the 59th chapter of the Padma Purana Srishti Khanda, before wearing the one-faced Rudraksha, purify it by the above method and chant the mantra (Om Rudra Ek Vaktrasya or Mahamrityunjaya) according to one’s ability.

Description of Ekamukhi Rudraksha in Puranas-

In the 59th chapter of Padma Purana Srishti Khanda, the benefits of wearing one-faced Rudraksha are described as follows:

Ucchhishto va vikarmastho yukto va sarvapatakaih।

Muchyate sarvapapebhyo rudrakshadharanen vai।।

( Padmpuran, Srishtikhand, Adhyay-59, Shlok-140)

That is-

Even a sinful person who remains unclean or sinful by merely wearing Rudraksha is freed from all sins.

When asked by Kartikeya, Lord Shiva explains the importance of the one-faced Rudraksha and says:

Mahata punyayogen haranugrahakaranat।

Ekavaktram labhenmartyo kailasam ch shadanan ।।

That is-

O Six-faced (Karthikeya)! When great merit arises, then that person has the grace of Lord Shiva and attains the one-faced Rudraksha and Kailas.

The Shiva Purana describes the glory of the one-faced Rudraksha.

Ekavaktrah shivah sakshaadbhuktimuktiphalpradah।

Tasya darshanamatren bramahatyam vyapohati।।

(Shivpuran, vidyeshvar sanhita adhyay-25, shlok-64)

That is-

The one-faced Rudraksha is Shiva himself, he gives Bhukti-Mukti. The mere sight of him destroys brahma-hatya.

The importance of one-faced Rudraksha is also found in the Devi Bhagavat Purana.

That is-
